Confessing with your mouth Jesus as Lord, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (underlines are mine)
John 5:24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life
Luke 13:3 "I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Mark 1:15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."
Romans 10:9-10 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
If you believe these scriptures, have heard the Word (Jesus in your heart) accept Jesus as Lord. If you believe in your heart John 3:16, " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
If you have turned to Jesus and believe, then pray this:
God, I believe that Jesus is Your Son; that He died in the flesh and bore my sins on the cross. I believe that You raised Jesus from the dead and that He is now at Your right hand. I repent of my sins. I forsake them. Lord Jesus, You took my place on the cross; I owe You more than my life. I owe You everything. Everything I have and will ever have; everything I am and will ever be, I give You it all. I give myself to You Lord Jesus and I thank You with all my heart. I open my heart and I receive You now. Take control of my life. I trust in You. In Your name Lord Jesus I pray. Amen.
...with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness
If you meant that prayer in your heart, you are now a child of God. Now, confess Jesus with your mouth ...with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Tell someone you have accepted Jesus as Lord. There will be many other times you will, unashamedly, be acknowledging Jesus as Lord, but you must confess Him. Call someone on the phone or if someone is near, tell them. Christ died for your sins publicly; you need to confess Him publicly. You can do this at Church, when decisions are made, and go down and tell the Pastor or a Minister. If you’re not in a Church you should join one and schedule a baptism. That should be your next step.
The act of confessing Jesus as Lord is simply a natural expression of your faith; part of true belief. It is not a work that saves you. You are saved by grace through faith. It is a gift from God.
Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Confessing Jesus as Lord is like an apple tree bearing its fruit. All apple trees bear apples. If you have accepted Jesus as Lord you will confess Him from your heart as Lord, as an apple tree naturally bears apples. An oak tree with apples glued to it is not an apple tree. An apple tree bears apples by its nature. If you have repented and believed, Christ is in you, and you have a new nature, by God’s grace through your faith, you have been born again and will bear fruit.
If you truly meant your prayer and believed it in your heart, repented and confessed Him, you are now saved, not because I say it but because God’s Word says you are. It does not depend on a feeling. It depends on the everlasting and infallible Word of God. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but My words shall not pass away” (Mark 13:31, King James).
Now, live for Jesus!
Please let me know if you have made this decision. You do not at all have to but I would like to pray for you (this is not confessing Jesus. You have to do that verbally).

This is something interesting I heard today from an Adrian Rogers’ Broadcast (current ones are free to listen to). I paraphrase: To live without Jesus, life is backwards from what God intended for man. Live spelled backwards is evil. If one has lived his life apart from Jesus, he lived his life for the devil. Lived spelled backwards is devil. Live you life for Jesus, as God intended, and you will truly live. |

Romans 8:38-39 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
