Hebrews_12:2_ fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

You Either Call On Jesus or Death Comes Forth

James 1:14-16  14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

John 11:40-44  40 Jesus said to her, "Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?" 41So they removed the stone Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42"I knew that You always hear Me; but because of the people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me." 43 When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth." 44 The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, "Unbind him, and let him go."

Matthew 23:27-29  27"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. 28 "So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. 29"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous,

From these verses I want you to see where death is and the Way to life (John 14:6).

When sin that comes from your own lust is completed it brings forth death (James 1:14-15). So, sin brings forth death. Now look at how we live in Christ. Jesus calls "Lazarus, come forth." Do you see the difference? The sin that when completed kills people and overcomes them (Romans 12:21), and causes spiritual death, comes from within themselves. It began with Adam and has been in every man and woman since then.

When a worm comes out of an apple it does so because it has always been in the apple. The coddling moth larvae works its way up the tree and into the fruit through the blossom end. Think of this tree as your ancestral tree. After you were conceived but before you were born you were like that blossom, inheriting that worm that will come forth and overcome you, unless you call on Jesus.

Psalm 25:17-18

    17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged;

Bring me out of my distresses.

18 Look upon my affliction and my trouble,

         And forgive all my sins.

Romans 10:13-14 13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD will be saved.” 14 How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

So, the only way to keep from being overcome by this death is to:

1. Be told Jesus is calling. And how shall they hear without a preacher?

2. Hear Jesus calling: And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard?

3. Believe in Him: How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed

4. Call on Him and be saved: for “WHOEVER WILL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD will be saved.”

If you’re not saved, Come to Jesus!

Romans 8:38-39 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (King James).
